Tom Wagoner was the lead pastor of Central Baptist Church for over 37 years. His powerful preaching and down-home personality have made him a sought after speaker nationally. He is now representing CBC in full-time evangelism. Originally from Winston-Salem, NC; he came to Christ at age 12 in 1972. God began speaking to his heart immediately about serving Him and he started preaching at the age of 16. In 1984, God called him to pastor a small group of people who were forming a church in the small town of Dunn. Over the past 35 years, God has blessed Central Baptist Church under his leadership to reach over 1000 in regular attendance. Pastor Wagoner also preaches in around 20 revival meetings throughout the country each year.

Tom met his wife, Teri, while the two were at Tennessee Temple University. They have been blessed with three children, Stephanie, Tiffany and Stephen. Stephanie is a kindergarten teacher at Brookside Christian Academy. Tiffany also works at Brookside and is married to Thomas, and both are actively involved the music ministry at Central. Stephen is the Pastor of Community and Mission at Sent Church Charlotte and is married to Brooke. The Wagoners have a total of 8 grandchildren: Eli, Noah, Kanaan, Madelyn, Thomas, Justice, Tommy, and Rosemary
